POSTAL LOCKERS


The postal locker offers a secure and efficient way of dealing with a variety of processes in many different organisations. The locker is an ideal and convenient way of sorting and storing mail, documents or items securely and effectively for individuals or groups of people in offices, shops, flats and student accommodation. The items are sorted into secure compartments each locked with an individual key or hasp lock for a padlock. For ease and speed of sorting or clearing the locker, a full height control locker door gives access to all the compartments at the same time – this creates an adaptable and efficient storage management system which also maximizes space in your post room.


Mail is accepted into the compartment via a slot in each compartment door. The slots are normally 25mm wide, but this can be changed to suit the requirement for document size and security. The postal locker is available in a wide variety of compartment sizes, starting with a 5 compartment size for large or great number of items, ranging through 8, 10, 15 and 20 compartments in each locker. The locker is also designed with either a flat top or sloping top, while locker stands and seat stands with ash slats give it excellent adaptability for different types of business.

The postal locker offers privacy and security for posted and stored items. Compartments are locked by a mastered series cam lock, supplied with 2 keys, for which a master key is available, and other locking options are available. The locker control door has a separate key for management access. The strength of the postal locker gives added security; the locker door and carcass is made of 0.9mm thick steel, while the door frame is hinged by means of a full length hinge rod 8 mm in diameter.

Laminate door lockers

This locker is both stylish and elegant in appearance as well as being tough and durable, this product was originally designed as a solution to lockers being vandalised in schools. The standard metal door locker is both adequate and fit for purpose in a caring environment and will provide trouble free service. The problem is when the environment is not caring; this locker will only stand so much abuse and is susceptible to a strong kick to the door of the lower compartment, having the effect of pushing the door right into the compartment itself. This vandalism results in administration and cost to the school and the locker or the locker door will need to be replaced.


Compact grade laminate lockers were designed as a solution to this problem and are now available in two forms, lockers with plant on or inset doors. The first product to market was the plant on door locker, with the door fitting across the front of the lockers. A swift kick to the door resulted in a sore foot and a desire not to attempt the kick again. The door material is available in a wide range of colours form wood grain, speckled, solid colours and special finishes, the standard door thickness is 10mm and as durable as a kitchen work top. Three of the most common manufacturers are Formica, Trespa and Polyrey. The plant on laminate door locker when viewed from the front presents a solid wall of laminate where none of the locker frame is visible; this has the effect of turning a utility product in to a very aesthetically pleasing product.

The laminate door locker designed has also been designed to include an inset laminate door although not as aesthetically pleasing the security and durability of the product has been enhanced. The locker door like the plant on door, sits on the frame of the locker, this has been inset to allow a tight fit of the door within the frame, the standard locks have been redesigned to take a patented version where the cam lock is replaced with a special hooked “T” shaped cam that engages on both sides of the “T” with the hook of the cam securely latched into the frame making forced entry very difficult indeed. Also the locker cross members dividing the compartment are fully secured into the locker frame making entry to a locked compartment from the adjacent compartment very difficult.

National Galleries of Scotland selected Total Locker Service to assist them in providing a new self service cloakroom facility.
The new facility is to replace the current staffed cloakroom, utilising the current layout without replacing the existing storage units. Total Locker Service designed lockers sized specifically to fit the excising units, the lockers where fitted with mastered £1 coin return locks in compartments ranging from 1 to 6 providing a selection of storage solutions to meet there customers needs.


Below are the lockers we provided in the upper cloakroom, specifically sized to fit the existing space available, 1.2mm heavy duty mild steel doors and £1 coin return locks.




For the new self-service locker room in the National Galleries of Scotland we produced a 3D model of the proposed lockers, detailing the interaction with the existing storage unit. The lockers are Trsepa laminate door lockers mounted on a laminate faced plinth, above Trespa laminate box section to carry on the line of the existing storage unit.

Lords cricket ground changing room replacement locker doors and locks

Total Locker Service have provided Marylebone Cricket Club with a solution to their changing requirement regarding changing room locker locks, the existing coin return locks no longer met the requirements of their customers. Marylebone Cricket Club felt that a combination lock would better suit the requirements of their customers. We offered the customer an extensive choice of both digital and mechanical combination locks, Marylebone Cricket Club chose the American manufactured Digilock for its elegant design, simplicity of use and master key functionality.
Total Locker Service as part of the project replaced the existing compact grade laminate doors with new Trespa compact grade laminate doors.
