Intelligent Electronic Lockers

We are able to provide ‘intelligent’ electronic lockers.  These lockers are designed to use the Lowe & Fletcher Electronic Latch Lock which has many unique features; opens under load (e.g. if a locker is overfilled), “pops” open the door, self locks when closed and has a mechanical key override.

Locker electronics are available in two versions, Simple Locker Administration and Advanced Locker Administration with software management.

Simple Electronic Locker Administration

This will allow the L&F electro locks to be controlled from a keypad with PIN access or with the optional ability of ID card or even biometrics access.  The system may be configured to allow one time use of each locker (after use the locker is reassigned by the next user) or for lockers to be permanently assigned to each user by an administrator.  The system includes a real time clock and allows configuration to automatically burst all doors at a set time (perhaps at midnight). There is no link to any database.  A short log of each locker activity may be seen via the keypad and LCD display.  This will show time and PIN number or ID card number only.

Advanced Locker Administration with Traka32 software

This will provide electronics, firmware and software to allow the electronic lockers to be managed and audited by the use of PIN, user ID card or biometrics.  Each controller may be attached to a standalone PC or to the customer network (subject to IT approval) and will be managed using the Traka32 administration software (also subject to IT approval).  Users may be enrolled with their name and full details as required and may use PIN, ID card or biometrics.  All user details will be held within the Traka database.  Optionally the Traka database may be interfaced with the Access Control system specified to simplify the user enrolment and user maintenance.

Every user activity in opening a locker will be recorded within the Traka database and will be reported using Crystal Reports.  Additionally Locker activity may be seen from the keypad attached to each locker.

The system will allow various options to also be specified such as a Curfew, locker booking, rotation of use of the locker, RFID tagging of the asset, logging of problems with the asset.  Users may be assigned access levels to ensure that they only access assets they are allowed to have. 

Traka32 software

The Traka32 software is required to configure and maintain the electronic lockers.  It is supplied with either an Access 2000 database or a SQL Server 2000 database. The Access version is usually suitable for organisations using Traka32 over a local area network, although for large numbers of users or operating over wide area networks, the SQL Server version is advised. The SQL version also requires additional user administration to maintain the database and for the Customer to purchase a SQL Server licence from Microsoft. 

We can also supply the Express version which offers almost all the functionality of the SQL Server version but without the need to purchase the SQL Server licence from Microsoft.  The Express version is only supported by Microsoft for a maximum of 5 concurrent users.  However, the SQL Server licence may be purchased at a later date to effectively upgrade the Express version.
